Ebbrate

What you can ship

Ebbrate carries commercial cargo that is lawful on its route. Some goods need a carrier that takes them, and papers before they leave.

Commercial cargo, lawful on its route

Ebbrate is for businesses shipping goods they sell or use in their business. It is not for personal effects or gifts.

The goods must be lawful to export from the origin and to import at the destination. Where a product needs a licence, a permit or a certificate on the route, the seller holds it before the goods leave. Describe each line as it is, with its tariff code where you know it: carriers price on the description, and customs reads it too.

Nobody on a US sanctions or export-control list can ship, carry or receive on Ebbrate. Every company in a shipment — the seller, the supplier, the consignee and the carrier — is screened against those lists.

Goods that need a carrier that takes them

Each line of a shipment has a category. A carrier sees and bids on a shipment only if it takes every category in it on that lane, so a carton of power banks only reaches carriers set up for batteries.

What the border looks at

Some goods are stopped at the border unless the importer can show where they were made. The shipment form warns you while you fill it in, from the same rules:

On duty paid terms the carrier clears customs for you, but the goods are still yours: if customs refuses them, who pays for the hold follows its cause, as the marketplace rules set out.

Not sure?

Post the shipment with the closest category and say what the goods are in the notes, or ask carriers from the auction page while bidding is open. For anything else, see Help.
